I have known the Burke Family since I was 9 years old. Kitty, Megan, and I used to play in their basement and build little forts in the corners of the room.
As a child, life was pretty upbeat because we were together almost all of the time. Since then we’ve all graduated from the same high school and moved on living our lives.
So I was honored when Megan asked me to photograph her wedding to the man in her life, Greg. This guy is so nice and I can see why Megan would want to spend the rest of her life with him.
The ceremony began at Zion Reformed Church in Grandville. On my way there, I actually thought it might rain for a minute but it cleared right up and the day was as beautiful as it could be.
Megan was given away by her brother, Joe. This kept the water welled up in my eyes because I know how much their Father meant to them and how close they all were to him. I understood the feeling of him not being able to be there.
After the ceremony, the bridal party headed down to One Trick Pony to get the party started and shortly afterwards toward the Masonic Temple where the reception was held.
What was nice about knowing the Burke family my whole life is that we all graduated from the same high school together, so I had a chance to see alot of old and familiar faces and catch up with people I had not seen years.
Sort of like a high school reunion, if you will, since I missed out on my 10 year reunion this year.
Congratulations to Megan and Greg!!! I am so excited for the both of you and I hope you have a fantastic time in Puerta Vallarta!!
