Gina came back over yesterday to finish part 2 of her boudoir session. This session consisted just a little bit more glamour and she turned up the sexitude just a notch. Gina is just Smokin’!!

…Miss Nahya Lynn Daza!!!

This story is particularly special to me, one; because my best friend, Carolina, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl December 23rd, 2008 at 11:19pm and two; because it was the first time I was able to experience a miracle of God himself bring this little person into the world two nights before Christmas during a snow storm. The story is epic. Let’s begin.

Carolina was due the 27th of December, however, she wanted her Christmas present early. My birthday is the 22nd of December and the past couple of years I’ve spent my birthday with my “sisters”. I, too, was in hopes that the little gal would arrive on that day, so I stayed the night just in case any activity occurred during the course of the evening.

Just like most sleepovers, Carola and I stayed up chatting away and then I was off to bed about 2 am. She however, started feeling contractions about a half hour I went to sleep but she didn’t wake me up until 5am.

We drove to St. Mary’s Hospital and stayed for an hour. Her contractions were not enough to keep her in so they sent us back about 6am. I fell back asleep on the couch in the living room and Carola continued to have more contractions for another couple of hours to the point she had called her sister-in-law. The poor girl hadn’t slept all night and was worried her contractions would last for a couple more days. -Yikes!-

At this point, as much as I did not want to, I had to leave her, but I also knew she was in good hands. About a quarter to 5pm, her mom had called and said she was back in the hospital and was dilated to 4. So back to St. Mary’s I went. And at that point, it was just a waiting game. To keep ourselves a little entertained, we all had made bets on when the baby would be born and if the baby was going to be a boy or girl. I was the only person to guess it would be a girl. Clearly, we know who the winner is. )

About 9:30pm she was fully dilated and the nurses were preparing Carolina for Go-Time. At 11:19pm at 7 pounds and 6 ounces, 19 1/2 inches long, and the Doctor said she was a girl, I remember Patty and I looked at each other with excitement, and I jumped of the chair like I was Tom Cruise on Oprah!! It truly was amazing.

Congratulations to Carolina and Eric on their new little girl!! I’m am so excited for you and your family!!!

2009 High School Senior Rep

Shane is another Class of 2009 High School Senior from East Kentwood High School. Our session yesterday began at the studio and later, outdoors over in the East Fulton area for some urban shots in the snow. It was certainly chilly outside but Shane was such a great sport and his session turned out amazing.

He enjoys playing soccer and is active in his high school Theatre Program. His plans for fall are to attend Grand Rapids Community College and enroll in their Law Enforcement Program and later tranfer to Grand Valley to finish up at their Police Academy.

I hope your plans in 2009 go well for you, Shane!!

Lights…Camera….Cold!!

Some of my favorite things about Christmas decorating is snowflakes and christmas lights. After the snow stop coming down this evening I manage to throw on my snowboots and wade through the feet of snow capturing the pretty lights around our house. Boy was it cold.

Just a little Sumpin: Part 1

Gina came over today for a boudoir session. For those of you who don’t know what a boudoir session is, it is a photo session where the photographs are suggestive, tasteful, and sexy. Gina’s session will be run in two parts. This is just the beginning. Sometimes when I go through editing images there are sessions where I have trouble finding the ones I like the most because almost all of them are just outstanding. Gina’s session was just one of them. So without showing too much, I just am giving ya’ll a taste of what’s in store.

Bump

In February, Tara and Jason, will be expecting their first son, so they came over for a quick session before the little guy arrived. Tara’s daughter, Halie, joined in with the photo picks as she too is excited to meet her new baby brother.
