Families: Zimmer Family

We are at our annual family pics this year, and my favorite Zimmer family is looking pretty schnazy in their white tops and denim jeans.  The girls always crack me up because they love making silly faces and goofing around during pictures.  I love it personally because these two girls showcase what great sense of humors they have at such an early age.  And Zach, my goodness, he is turning into a young man.  I’m sure Traci has to keep a close on him with all the girls calling the house asking for him.  I just see trouble….really cute trouble.  Again, it’s always fun and entertaining to photograph, your family Traci and Ken.  Happy Holidays to you all!

Bump: Kate and Matt

I met with Kate and Matt at Grand Park for Kate’s maternity session.  She is six months along and looking absolutely beautiful.  After speaking with Kate and her husband, Matt, it was clear that they are both super excited that their first child will be a boy!  Even though Matt was a little shy for the camera, he was so great.  Watching him be so attentive to his wife brings joy to my heart that their newborn son will be so loved and protected.   Our session was a little chilly and drizzly that day but rain or shine, I always feel honored and privleged to be a part of someone’s new beginnings especially when it’s as special as a growing baby waiting to join the world.

Kate and Matt, I can’t wait to meet this little guy and congratulations to you both!!

Lisa and Her Boys

Awhile ago, Lisa came with her two hams, Braylen and Drew.  Full of energy these two were but we still managed to settle them down long enough to get some shots…but it didn’t last long.  :)

The John Family

I have been very fortunate to have wonderful neighbors since I’ve moved to the north side of town 6 years ago.  Geoff and Gina have been no exception.  They are fun loving people whose large family keeps them on their toes.  Don’t get me wrong.  They maybe busy people but they make time for themselves and know how to let their hair down.  Every summer is has been always been a great opportunity to hang out in the back yard until the wee hours of the night playing “Cornhole”.  Of course my husband has been mostly an active player than myself.  I’m usually a side liner always provoking other activity.

When I mentioned that Geoff and Gina have a large family, I wasn’t kidding.  Between the both of them they have 6 kids!!  Yeah, I said it 6 kids!!!  Doesn’t Gina look amazing?!!  Of course she didn’t have all six children but she  still looks fantastic.  They are no Jon and Kate but more like Brady Bunch but with one boy, and amazingly they all get along pretty well.  Meeting with them on Sunday was nothing short of entertaining.  It was great for the kids to just be themselves and several times I caught Geoff questioning himself like, “Why did I bring them here?”  No worries, Geoff.  They were great!!  I love you guys and I’m so grateful to have you as neighbors.

Sinquefield Family

I love to chase monkeys.  That was Andrew on Sunday morning when Travis and Natalie brought their little family into the studio.  Boy oh boy was he everywhere.  I love it because that means I have more to work with.  Then there was sweet little Emily.  I just wanted to kiss her sweet little face.  At only 3 months, she was definitely at the other end of the spectrum, but how should she be at that age?  Of course she isn’t going far.  Silly me.  Nonetheless, it was such a pleasure to photograph this family who keeps you on your toes. :) )

Carpenter Family

This month Isaac is going to be the ripe old age of 8 years old.  8 years old!!  My goodness these kids don’t stop growing.  I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Isaac and the rest of his family for many many years.  Sunday night we met outside the studio for Isaac’s 8 year pictures and the rest of the Carpenter Clan.   I love these guys!!  They always make me laugh during a photo session and I’m the one behind camera.  What can I say I love a challenge and I love to be entertained.  The Carpenter’s always bring both to the table for me.

Matzen Family

Tara introduced me to a wonderful little place in the city that’s close to home.  The Grand Ideas Gardens.  This place is small, but it packs a huge punch for landscaping.  It’s a fantastic alternative to the Fredrick Meijer Gardens, but without all the super cool oversized sculptures.

The Matzen family and I met there Sunday morning for their first time, altogether, family session.  Reece, now being about 7 months old, was just so laid back and happy to be outside looking at the cool and wonderful things the world had in store for him, while Halie is such a sweet older sister to Reece.  She was so attentive and loving towards him.  I find little things like these very endearing.

Vander Boon Family

Jay, Jenny and Ava came in this evening for their first family session.  What a beautiful family they are.  Ava was quite the chatty one this evening but she only made for good entertainment as I was trying to get my shots of her.  I don’t think I need to go into how much I love this family but I will say I just love them to pieces.  :)

Stickney Family

Wednesday evening was spent with the Stickney family in Aman Park of Allendale.  It was my first time coming to this park and there was a lot of really neat areas to go here.  If you are looking for something very natural and heavily wooded, this is a great park.  There lots of different hiking trails and off trails to scope out, however, the Stickney’s and I didn’t wonder far.  They included there lovely little girl, Chessy, who was much more interested in playing in the creek then having her picture taken, but we managed to get a few pictures of her here and there.

What I love about the Stickney family is that they are down to earth people who enjoy the outdoors, they love animals, and they enjoy so much about being close to each other.  After spending time with them Wednesday night, I would agree that it shows.  And might I add I cannot get over Ben’s adorable smile.

Bump

My sweet old friend, Rosa, came over today for a last minute maternity session before her baby boy arrives in a couple of weeks.  Yes, I said it, a couple of weeks!!  Her mother, Lisa, joined in on a couple of shots as this will be her first grandchild and what could be more special of a mom sharing something so important in an expecting mom’s life.  I love it when expecting moms add their little ones to maternity sessions but there is something so endearing when the grandmother joins the session.   I find this session exceptionally special not because it is my first session for 2009 but particularly these two women are so close to my heart.
